Dworin quits Ayer New York

Ayer New York Chairman-CEO Steve Dworin has unexpectedly left the agency. His duties will be divided among other Ayer executives, including President Mary Lou Quinlan. A statement by W.Y. Choi and Richard Humphreys, heads of Adcom, which has a majority stake in Ayer, said there will be no change in the current ownership structure of the agency and that Adcom has no intention of selling the agency.

Ziff-Davis Publishing said it will launch ZD Internet Life, a new quarterly magazine it said will be focused on "Internet fun, profit and personal growth." The rate base is 100,000. The one-time four color ad rate is $6,100. It is scheduled to hit sometime in the fourth quarter of this year. Bill Machrone will be the editor. It follows by one day the announcement that Virtual City will be launched in September as a joint venture between Virtual Communications and Washington Post Co. That quarterly magazine will have a press run of 300,000 but no rate base has been established. Jonathan Sacks is the publisher.
