(June 26, 2001) -- Internet service provider EarthLink, Atlanta, announced today that it is raising its monthly subscription rate from $19.95 to $21.95 starting July 2 for new subscribers and Aug. 1 for most existing customers. The company plans to use the money for infrastructure investments, equipment upgrades and service enhancements. This is EarthLink's first price hike for its dial-up service, though its broadband and Web-hosting customers will not be affected. -- Adrienne Mand
