(July 19, 2001) -- Online auction site eBay reported its financial results for the second quarter.

The company reported consolidated net revenues of $180.9 million, an 84% jump over the $98.2 million generated in the same period last year. Consolidated net income was $24.6 million, or 9 cents per diluted share, and pro forma consolidated net income, excluding certain charges, was $33.5 million, or 12 cents per diluted share.

Ebay reported gross profit totaling $148 million, or 82% of net revenues during the quarter, compared to a 75% gross profit in the second quarter of 2000. -- Adrienne Mand
