EBay arrives in Italy

Online trading community eBay launched eBay Italy, its Italian Web site (www.ebay.it). EBay Italy allows Italian buyers and sellers to trade items using Italian lire. In addition, Italian users will have access to the more than 5 million items listed on eBay in Europe and around the world. EBay also announced an agreement to acquire the majority of the shares of InternetAuction Co., Korea's leading online trading Web site. With the Korean transaction, and the launch of eBay Italy, eBay now operates in nine countries worldwide.
