The Economist Group, London, has appointed a publisher for its weekly news magazine The Economist
for the first time in its 154-year history. It said the move is an attempt to refocus resources on the magazine after five years of concentrating on new products and acquisitions. David Hanger, previously worldwide advertisement director of The Economist
and director of group developments and specialist magazines, was named to the publisher's post.
