Editor gets 'Forbes' publisher post

Forbes Inc., New York, named Forbes ASAP Editor Richard P. Karlgaard, 43, publisher of Forbes, effective July 1, succeeding Group Publisher Jeffrey M. Cunningham, who is leaving to start a multimedia company to acquire and create media properties. Forbes Inc. President-CEO Steve Forbes said Mr. Karlgaard will provide strategic direction, interact with advertisers at the highest levels and write a column on the new economy in each issue. Forbes VP-Advertising William Flatley will run day-to-day operations of the sales department and continue to report to Forbes Inc. Chief Operating Officer Timothy C. Forbes.
