Eisner reassures Cap Cities/ABC

Published on .

Walt Disney Co. CEO Michael Eisner said at a Capital Cities/ABC top management meeting in Phoenix that he planned no immediate asset sales once Disney's acquisition of Cap Cities/ABC is completed. The only exception will be properties that Disney is ordered to dispose of by Federal Communications Commission to comply with cross-media ownership regulations.

The FCC meets Thursday and is expected to approve the transfer of the Cap Cities broadcast licenses to Disney, but is expected to require the divestiture of newspapers or radio stations in Fort Worth, Texas, and Detroit. The merger could then be finalized by the end of the week.
