'Elle' Director Pagniez to retire

Hachette Filipacchi Magazines, New York, said Regis Pagniez, publication director (and founding editor) of the U.S. edition of Elle, is retiring, effective immediately, after 13 years at the magazine. No successor as publication director will be named. Elle Editor Elaina Richardson and Creative Director Gilles Bensimon, who had reported to Mr. Pagniez, will report to Hachette Filipacchi President-CEO David J. Pecker. Mr. Pagniez will become a consultant to Hachette Filipacchi.
