Emaildirect, Aliso Viejo, Calif., will partner with Cox Target Media's Val-Pak to provide local coupons to its 600,000 online subscribers. Emaildirect operates Value-mail, an every-other-weekly package of coupons from national retailers and marketers e-mailed to subscribers. Val-Pak, Largo, Fla., mails more than 15 billion coupons a year through its cooperative direct mailers, focusing on local sales promotions through national brands such as Jiffy Lube and Subway. Emaildirect will incorporate Val-Pak's 30,000 merchant cou-pons per mailing into its e-mail package in a Local Buys section updated every two weeks. Coupons through Value-mail can be redeemed electronically or printed and redeemed at retail stores.
Cogit.com named Expert Communications, San Francisco, as its first direct marketing and ad agency of record. Cogit.com, an Internet marketing services company, expects to invest the bulk of its latest venture financing, $14.15 million, in creating a major marketing and branding campaign to raise awareness of the company in the business-to-business environment. A print and direct campaign will launch in March to attract e-commerce marketers that could use Cogit.com's real-time targeting and profiling services.
