Encyclopaedia Britannica inks deal with Washington Post subsidiary

Encyclopaedia Britannica has entered an exclusive content partnership with Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive (WPNI), the new-media subsidiary of The Washington Post Company that publishes washingtonpost.com and Newsweek.com sites. Under the deal, WPNI will be the exclusive branded news provider and editor of the Britannica.com news channel. The two companies also plan to integrate washingtonpost.com, Newsweek.com and Britannica.com content through cross-linking and co-branding. WPNI will provide daily domestic and international news content to Britannica.com. The WPNI partnership marks the first time Encyclopaedia Britannica has ever included the content of another publisher on one of its Web sites.
