ESPN adds to sales unit

ESPN named Paul Slagle to a new VP position in its integrated sales and marketing unit. Mr. Slagle, previously a director in the unit, continues to report to ESPN Senior VP-Integrated Sales and Marketing Michael Chico. Two new directors were also named for the unit: Randy Gerstenblatt, from director, marketing sales, Capital Cities, ABC National Television Sales, and Terrence Sekel, from director of international advertising sales, ESPN. All are based in ESPN's New York office. ESPN also named Marian Melcher Hanson to the newly created post VP-special events marketing, reporting to Mr. Chico; she had been managing director, International Promotion Management, Simsbury, Conn. Ms. Hanson will be based in Bristol, Conn.
