ESPN reorganizes site, drops SportsZone name

Published on .

ESPN Internet Ventures introduced ESPN.com, a revamped Web site tagged as the gateway to sports on the Internet. The moniker ESPN SportsZone has been dropped and the site design has changed to include more text and information, tighter navigation bars and new features like The Store at ESPN.com, which launches Sept. 10. ESPN.com also now is the umbrella site for ESPN online content partners NFL.com, Nascar.com, NBA.com along with four new content partners--MountainZone.com, SoccerTimes, Tennis Week and U.S. College Hockey Online.
