Advertising on cable systems during local availabilities for ESPN was up 14% in 1995, according to a Bortz & Co. study commissioned by ESPN. Local ad revenues on ESPN averaged $5.61 per subscriber. With total average ad revenue per local subscriber at $27.58, local ad revenue on ESPN was responsible for 20% of all local ad revenue generated, the study claimed.
