SINGAPORE--ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) has promoted Vib Sharma to senior VP-advertising and integrated sales, a post left vacant by the sudden departure of Chris McDonald to the U.S. for undisclosed reasons.

Mr. Sharma, formerly VP-advertising sales at ESS, will assume overall responsibility for the advertising, sponsorship and integrated sales divisions at ESS and manage a team of sales personnel based in Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei and throughout India. The company, a 50:50 joint venture between STAR TV and ESPN Inc., owns and operates STAR Sports and ESPN.

Mr. Sharma's previous experience in advertising sales and TV media planning and buying includes stints at STAR channels in India and London-based work at Zenith Media and Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO.
