Evans to lead Zuckerman Media

Harold M. Evans, president and publisher of Random House trade group since 1990, was named editorial director and vice chairman of the publication group owned by Mortimer B. Zuckerman that includes The New York Daily News, U.S. News & World Report, The Atlantic Monthly and Fast Company. He will begin his new job at the beginning of 1998. Mr. Evans has worked with Mr. Zuckerman in the past. In 1984, Mr. Evans established Atlantic Monthly press as an independent book imprint, and in 1986, he was editorial director at U.S. News & World Report. Over the last year he has been editing actor Christopher Reeves' life story, "Still Me," and Walt Disney Co. Chairman and CEO Michael Eisner's account of his life in entertainment, both to be published in 1998.
