EVENTS & PROMOTIONS: INSIDE LINE OREOS STACK UP WITH CONTEST AT WAL-MART SITES

Nabisco Biscuit Co. has started a promotion with Wal-Mart Stores staging Oreo "stacking contests" at 12,000 stores through Aug. 3. To kick off the promotion, Wal-Mart executives including Chairman-CEO David Glass stacked Oreos via a closed-circuit camera for company employees June 7. Local radio and newspaper ads support. Foote, Cone & Belding, New York, handles Oreo advertising.

Philadelphia Eagles launched a tie-in with Coca-Cola Co. for a local promotion tied to the National Football League team's summer training camp. Through an agreement with a local bottler, Coca-Cola is producing 10 million limited-edition cans touting the camp and related events. The promotion was handled in-house.

Voice FX signed new sponsors for its CampusDirect phone program providing interactive college registration, financial aid information, and transcript and grade reporting. The sponsors include Barnes & Noble, Columbia House Online, GMAC, Chrysler Corp., the U.S. Army and Travelocity.
