EVENTS & PROMOTIONS: PROMO SPOTLIGHT: COORS PUTS SOUND IN A CAN FOR TV WATCHERS AT TAVERNS

By Published on .

Marketers: Coors Brewing Co., Golden, Colo., and AP Acoustics, High Bridge, N.J.

Effort: Coors Fan Can.

Twist: Coors teamed with an audio-visual contracting company to create branded wireless tabletop TV speakers for bars and restaurants. Designed to look like Coors beer cans, the speakers allow patrons to tune in the audio portion of on-premise TV programs so each table with a speaker can listen to a different show. The speakers feature individual channel and volume controls; sound is transmitted via local FM radio frequency in conjunction with preset channels on TVs inside the establishment.

Vital statistics: Jointly manufactured and marketed by Coors and AP Acoustics, the speakers are available for $69 each through Coors distributors or by calling 1-800-FAN-CAN-9; certain Coors distributors are showcasing the can at on-premise events.
