Excite spent $6.9 million on online ads last year via Foote, Cone & Belding, San Francisco, reported Jupiter Communications. Modem and FCB are sister companies under True North Communications. "It would seem very logical and likely that we'll work with Modem Media," said Scott Epstein, Excite's director-marketing communications. Separately, Excite today will announce several new managers, including Bill White Jr. to senior VP-marketing from senior VP-general manager of Sega Entertainment; and Ken Wachtel to senior VP-sales from VP-news sales at CBS Television Network.
