Expo 2000 in Hannover, Germany, moved its advertising to DDB
, Duesseldorf, following criticism of the fair's previous campaign and disappointing visitor numbers. Springer & Jacoby, Hamburg, also competed for the account, formerly held by BBDO
Worldwide-owned KNSK. The Hamburg-based incumbent will continue to work on special assignments. The pitching agencies had just 10 days to come up with fresh ideas for Expo 2000, which is reported to be plowing an additional $25 million into ad efforts to lure more visitors to its attractions. A new TV campaign is expected to air in about three weeks. Expo 2000 closes Oct. 31.
