Fiera.com is investing a total of $25 million to launch the Portuguese-language portal (www.fiera.com). The budget covers the recentacquisition of MicroSite.com, a local online retailer with projected 2000 sales of $10 million; the opening of a Sao Paulo office as well as marketing and promotional costs.
The Brazil launch furthers Fiera.com's ambition to reach an eventual global market of 500 million Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking people.
