Corel Corp., Ottawa, Canada, on April 8 will begin selling a fully functional beta version of its new Corel WordPerfect Suite 7 for just $19.95, hoping to create a buzz before releasing the $395 final version of the software suite in May.

Northeast discount store chain Bradlees, Braintree, Mass., put calls out to agencies requesting reels for a fall TV campaign but said a review was not under way. Publicis/Bloom, New York, is the incumbent. Bradlees is expected to spend $15 million in advertising this year.

Incumbent GSD&M, Austin, Texas, edged out the Richards Group, Dallas, for the $25 million Texas Lottery account.
