Reader's Digest Association named DRI International, New York, for a new direct marketing account. The publisher estimated it will spend up to $5 million on direct-response TV during the first six months of 1999, with the goal of building brand awareness and boosting subscriptions.

Grey Integrated, London, a Grey Communications Group unit, and Grey Direct, a unit of Grey Direct Worldwide, have merged. Renamed Joshua, the entity will be a unit of Grey Direct Worldwide. Peter Thompson, Grey Integrated chairman, will become chairman of Joshua; Nick Spindler, managing director of Grey Integrated, will become managing director of Joshua.
