CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- Fallon has cut 20 staffers from its New York office, including the entire creative department, the Publicis Groupe agency confirmed.

The only member of the department not affected is Executive Creative Director Kevin Roddy, people with knowledge of the situation said.

cited the "continued soft advertising economy and further reductions in client spending" as the reason behind the cuts.

"Marketplace conditions continue to be difficult everywhere and are not different for Fallon New York," Alison Burns, president of the New York office, said in a statement.

Fewer than five creatives had been on staff after production ranks were consolidated in the Minneapolis headquarters last summer.

"While we regret this news, we remain committed to having a vibrant presence in New York, and to giving our clients the highest standards of creative excellence, there and around the world," Fallon Worldwide Chairman Pat Fallon said in the statement.
