FamilyEducation Network goes live

Published on .

On Sept. 30, the FamilyEducation Network will go live with 16,409 sites for school districts around the country. In the last week Fleet Bank and Century 21 joined U S West's DiveIn Internet service, MediaOne and AT&T Learning Network and others as sponsors.

FCC Chairman Reed Hundt is expected to flick the switch on the network, which provides school sites at no charge for parents, teachers and students to discuss and learn about local educational issues.
