FCB ANNOUNCES LAYOFFS IN SAN FRANCISCO OFFICE

SAN FRANCISCO (AdAge.com) -- Interpublic Group of Cos.' Foote Cone & Belding has laid off about a half dozen employees from its San Francisco office, a company spokesman said.

In addition, one of the office's key executives, Kathryn Lewis, has resigned. Ms. Lewis, executive vice president of operations, took her current title in 2001.

FCB spokesman Bill Haney described the layoffs as "small adjustments." He said. "What we're doing is aligning our loading to meet what we're anticipating in the new year."

FCB's top accounts are Levi Strauss & Co.'s Dockers casual clothing and Levi Strauss Signature jeans and other apparel sold in discount stores.
