FCB buys agencies in Korea, France

True North Communications-owned FCB Worldwide has strengthened its global advertising operations with two acquisitions: Hahnin in Korea and Acam in France. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

With the acquisition of Hahnin, FCB Worldwide becomes one of the top 10 international agencies in Korea. Clients include some of the leading fashion, household appliance, construction and securities firms in Korea, including Kolon, Web-2-Phone, and Han-dok. The new agency, to be called FCB Hahnin, will be headed up by Mr. K.S. Cho, currently president of FCB in Korea, and Exec VP Guy Gostling, previously general manager, FCB Korea. The new agency's billings will reach more than $40 million.

In France, Acam is one of the top proximity advertising organizations. Clients include food retailer Carrefour, leading direct-mail distributor Mediaposte and premier leisure and handcraft goods chain Loisirs et Creations.

Didier Stora, exec VP of FCB/France, will become president of FCB/Acam and will integratethe acquisition into FCB/France in collaboration with Pascal Richou, operations manager of Acam.
