FCB expects Publicis solution soon

Published on .

Bruce Mason, chairman-CEO of True North Communications, told shareholders at the agency holding company's annual meeting in San Francisco he is working to "quickly resolve" the dispute with Publicis, its European joint venture. Publicis made a deal with the New Saatchi agency to buy media for British Airways; Northwest Airlines, a client of True North's Foote, Cone & Belding, competes with BA on major routes. FCB is "committed to Northwest," Mr. Mason said in an interview following the meeting, adding he expects potential conflicts to be resolved "in the next few weeks."
