FCB media chief Drexler to retire

Mike Drexler, exec VP-worldwide media director for FCB Worldwide, New York, and former chairman of TN Media, is retiring from the agency. The company has named Scot Butler to the dual role of president, TN Media, and worldwide media director, FCB Worldwide. Mr. Butler previously was exec VP-media director of FCB Worldwide, Chicago. Lillian Kennedy, media director for Bozell, New York, and Mike Bracken, executive media director of Temerlin McClain, Irving, Texas, will become exec VPs of TN Media while retaining their agency roles. Joel Kushins continues as exec VP-general manager of TN Media, reporting to Mr. Butler. Mr. Drexler said: "As for my plans, I'll focus more on the new-media world. It's a more exciting time than ever, and I'm going to continue to be a part of it.'' Mr. Drexler is a 40-year veteran of advertising, having worked at Ogilvy & Mather for 14 years and then as exec VP-director media programming at Doyle Dane Bernbach. He joined Bozell in 1986 as exec VP-national media director and in 1990 was named worldwide media director. After Bozell became part of True North, Mr. Drexler was named chairman of TN Media. In January, he moved to FCB Worldwide as worldwide media director.
