FCB/SF names exec creative director

FCB Worldwide, San Francisco, named Rooney Carruthers, 41, executive creative director, from executive creative director, WCRS, London. FCB's San Francisco Chairman-CEO Geoff Thompson had filled the role on an interim basis; the post had been vacant since 1998. Prior to WCRS, Mr. Carruthers had worked at Bartle Bogle Hegarty, London, on the Levi Strauss & Co. account in Europe. FCB handles Levi Strauss' Dockers and Slates business and is one of the West's largest agencies claiming more than $800 million in billings. At WCRS, Mr. Carruthers will be succeeded by Leon Jaume, who worked with him as joint creative director of the shop.
