Published on .

Charlie Taney, 51, chairman of the New York office of Foote, Cone & Belding, New York, will leave the agency at the end of April to join consultancy Gilbert, Farlie, which will be renamed Gilbert Taney Farlie. FCB Worldwide Chairman Brendan Ryan has been working with Mr. Taney over the past few months to create a smooth transition. Jeff Tarakajian, 45, was named president-CEO of the New York office in December; at the same time Tim Elliot, 50, was named managing director of the office. Mr. Taney joined FCB when that agency acquired North Castle Partners in 1983, where Mr. Taney was one of the principals. He became president of FCB's New York office in 1996, when Mr. Ryan moved from that position to worldwide chairman. Mr. Taney was named chairman in December.
