FCC approves kids TV rules, sources say

FCC sources said the agency Thursday was planning to announce unanimous approval of new children's TV regulations that would ensure renewal to broadcasters that air at least three hours of educational programming a week. The sources said the agency essentially adopted the compromise regulations worked out by the White House and the National Association of Broadcasters. FCC Commissioner Jim Quello said he and Commissioner Rachelle Chong had also won "a little more flexibility" for broadcasters.
