FCC OKs Westinghouse's CBS acquisition

The Federal Communications Commission unanimously approved the transfer of control of CBS to Westinghouse Electric Corp., closing the last hurdle in Westinghouse's acquisition of the Tiffany Network. It now appears that no rival suitor will step forward, though many observers believe Westinghouse will reach out to a strategic ally to help infuse CBS with studio-type content. Westinghouse is expected to announce a new management structure soon.
