Federal mediators set formal talks for actors, advertisers

Published on .

Federal mediators are bringing commercial actor unions and advertisers together for formal contract talks, scheduled for July 20 and 21 in New York. The last meeting occurred June 14, when informal talks were held. During that meeting, chief negotiators for each side met briefly, and then separately with federal mediators. This time, each side's full complement of representatives will be included in the discussions. The strike by the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television & Radio Artists began May 1.
