FEDERATED TESTS CO-BRANDED VISA CREDIT CARDS

CINCINNATI-Federated Department Stores will begin testing co-branded Visa cards at its Bloomingdale's and Lazarus department stores.

Selected holders of the stores' existing private-label cards will be offered enhanced Visa cards. Users will get 3% rebates on store purchases and 2% rebates on all other purchases, usable in $25 increments for store merchandise.

The card carries no annual fee and an initial interest rate of 14.9%. Direct mail advertising, handled in-house, supports.
