Will Lansing, as the new president of Fingerhut Cos., Minneapolis, says his primary goal is to make the stock move. Mr. Lansing recently joined Fingerhut from General Electric Co., where his main charge was driving growth through acquisitions. He feels Fingerhut, a $1.8 billion database marketer, is poised perfectly for growth through acquisitions, as well as the opportunity to leverage both the company's database strength and infrastructure. "Direct marketing is the greatest value proposition on the planet," Mr. Lansing said. "It's a great business model."
