Firefly taps Cox as rep firm

Published on .

Firefly named Cox Interactive Sales rep firm for its site. Cox will sell banner ads as well as newer sponsorship opportunities. Firefly operates a music and movies showcase site for its collaborative filtering technology. The site has attracted a slew of advertisers, including current names IBM Corp. and the Gap.

Firefly VP-Sales Doug Weaver said the decision to outsource ad sales was made because the company is concentrating on selling its technology to other sites. Firefly has developed a suite of tools enabling sites to offer personalization to their visitors. Mr. Weaver recently took on the additional role of licensing the technology as well as selling ads.
