Fischer jumps to Turner

Barry Fischer has been named to the new post of exec VP-research and marketing at Turner Broadcasting Sales. The surprise move takes him away from Wells Rich Greene BDDP, where he was senior VP-deputy media director, the point person controlling Procter & Gamble Co.'s cable TV spending. P&G spent $177.5 million on cable last year, according to Competitive Media Reports.

WRG's new point man on the P&G business will likely be Harry Keeshan, who's been Mr. Fischer's No. 2 man. Mr. Fischer's major responsibility at Turner will be to create advertising packages across all TBS properties. That could include Time Warner assets as well if the pending Time Warner acquisition of TBS goes through.
