Focalink says game sites charge higher rates

Focalink Communications reported statistics in its Online Advertising Report that show that game sites charge nearly a 25% premium over the average Web ad rates with an average cost per thousand of $49.31. The company also reported that the average Web gross ad rate for June 1997 was $39.66 CPM, a decrease of 1% over the prior month. Games sites showed the largest increase in ad rates this month, jumping 7%. The company's report, which tracks statistics on about 900 sites, is a compilation of Web advertising statistics gathered from MarketMatch, Focalink's Web media planning tool.
