New Forbes title gets launch ads

Published on .

Forbes Global Business & Finance, the new international edition of Forbes, will launch a seven-month international ad campaign using the tagline, "Capitalists of the World Unite." The ads, which satirize socialist propaganda posters, were created by Zhang Hongtu, a designer formerly of the People's Republic of China. Stephen Rau, European advertising manager for Forbes, has been named ad director of the new title and will be based in London. Turespana, the government group promoting tourism to Spain, is the first advertiser and will run an eight-page supplement in the debut issue. The new every-other-week title will debut in March 1998 and is expecting a readership of 250,000. Robert Forbes will be president and Lawrence Minard, former managing editor of Forbes, will be editor.
