Ford names a top BMW exec to lead North American marketing for its luxury cars

Ford Motor Co. hired BMW of North America President Victor Doolan as executive director-North American marketing and distribution strategy, for its Premier Automotive Group, a new post. The London-based Premier Automotive Group manages Ford's Lincoln, Jaguar, Volvo and Aston Martin product lines and has been charged with increasing Ford luxury vehicle sales from 646,000 to 1 million annually. Mr. Doolan will report to Wolfgang Reitzle, group VP of the Premier Automotive Group. Mr. Reitzle had been BMW's chief of marketing, development and distribution before moving to Ford in March. Mr. Doolan's appointment is effective July 17. Ford said it has not been determined where Mr. Doolan will be based.
