[dearborn, mich.] Ford Motor Co.'s Ford Division named 13 executives to new brand manager positions, reporting to three group managers (AA, July 28). The new system scraps Ford's previous titles built around such car-category designations as "sporting" and "tough."

They are: Marla Frazier, 39, Crown Victoria brand manager, from family brand merchandising manager; Frances Thompkins, 34, Taurus brand manager, from sporting brand marketing plans manager; Drew Cook, 36, Contour brand manager, from tough brand merchandising and communications manager; Leisa Byars, 29, Escort brand manager, from youthful brand communications manager; Jack Witucki, 56, Mustang/Thunderbird brand manager, from sporting brand product plans manager; Doug Scott, 41, Explorer brand manager, from family brand product plans manager; and Peter Fong, 33, Expedition brand manager, from family brand communications manager.

Also, Denise Orcher, 38, Windstar brand manager, from supervisor, medium and heavy truck product and business planning; Aaron Shin 37, Ranger brand manager, from youthful brand product plans manager; Bob Masone, 35, F-150/F-250 brand manager, from brand planning and development manager; Mickey Matus, 43, Econoline brand manager, from tough brand product plans manager; Ken Farr, 49, F-superduty brand manager, from national accounts manager, heavy truck fleet and leasing; and Tom Steckel, 58, medium-truck brand manager, from commercial heavy-duty F-series brand manager. Also, Bob Girard, 44, was named tactical marketing manager from expressive brand manager, and Judy Pohlod, 50, was appointed cross-vehicle strategy manager from sporting brand manager.
