Ford Motor Co., Dearborn, Mich., is close to making a major agency realignment in Europe, say persons with knowledge of the situation. The $75 million global account for Land Rover is believed to have been awarded to Young & Rubicam, after a pitch against Grey Worldwide and London-based independent HHCL. WCRS resigned the account after Ford bought Land Rover from BMW. GSD&M, Austin, Texas, has been handling Land Rover in the U.S. Ford is also understood to have returned the entire Ford oval brand account in Europe to Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide. The agency has picked up Galaxy and some other Ford brands it didn't already handle from sibling WPP Group agency Young & Rubicam. Ford Motor Co.'s other roster agencies in Europe are J. Walter Thompson Co. on Jaguar and Euro RSCG Worldwide
for Volvo. Ford officials declined to comment on the changes, but said they may make an announcement next week. Officials at O&M and Y&R declined to comment on the assignments.
