Ford takes new Taurus out for a drive

Ford Motor Co. will launch its redesigned 1996 Taurus with 15-second teaser ads beginning the week of Sept. 17. The campaign, created by J. Walter Thompson USA, will be themed, "Making the dream come true." Other plans include a media blitz Oct. 1-5 where Ford will advertise the Taurus on every prime-time show aired by the three major TV networks. The company will also conduct a Taurus giveaway during programming of "Fox NFL Football" on Oct. 1. Spending is estimated at more than $100 million.
