James Dean is back, and wouldn't you know, he's hanging around highways again. Not in the flesh, of course. Converse has resurrected the icon in a two-month West Coast outdoor blitz for its retro-chic Jack Purcell sneakers. The boards, via Arnold Communications, Boston, are tagged with either Nordstrom or Macy's. The picture of Mr. Dean wearing his Jack Purcells was taken by Hollywood photographer Phil Stern in 1955 and has been used in past Converse campaigns. Copywriter/art director: Paul Renner.
