The girl next door gets a "Vargas girl"-like makeover as Lee Apparel Co. returns to print after a year's hiatus. The ads from Fallon McElligott, Minneapolis, debut in May magazines. Lee wanted to avoid the "trend toward stark black and white [jeans] ads with a gritty, urban tone," said ad VP Ellen Rohde.
