Fox News vs. Time Warner takes another turn

Published on .

Fox News Channel filed a federal antitrust lawsuit on Wednesday against Time Warner, Turner Broadcasting System and its chairman, Ted Turner. The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court, Eastern District, in New York City, alleges that Time Warner and Turner, which are expected to complete a merger on Thursday, conspired to block carriage of the Fox News Channels on Time Warner's New York City cable systems.

The suit further charges Time Warner with breach of contract and fraud for reneging on an agreement to carry the Fox channel in New York. Time Warner President Richard Parsons branded the suit "utter foolishness." Turner did not issue its own statement.
