Fox unveils new kid cable channels

Fox Family Channels announced it will launch The Boyz Channel and The Girlz Channel, two new ad-supported cable networks for children, in early 1999. Daytime programming will be aimed at 2-to-14-year-old boys and girls, with evening programming aimed at parents. The channels will be developed as digital cable/satellite channels but also will be available to cable companies as basic services. Each channel will have a related Web site with advice, events and games.
