'Frasier' gets 'Seinfeld' spot on NBC

NBC said "Frasier" will fill the Thursday 9 p.m. (ET) slot that had been occupied by "Seinfeld." In announcing its fall prime-time schedule today, NBC also said it is adding four new half-hour sitcoms, two hourlong dramas and giving hourlong newsmagazine "Dateline NBC" a fifth night. New sitcoms "Conrad Bloom" (8:30 p.m.) and "Will & Grace" (9:30 p.m.) join the Monday night schedule. On Tuesday, new sitcom "Encore! Encore!" gets the 8:30 p.m. slot and returning shows "Just Shoot Me" (9 p.m., home to "Frasier" in the '97-'98 season) and "Working" (9:30 p.m.) join from other dates and/or times during the week. On Wednesday, "Dateline NBC" gets the 8 p.m. slot ("Dateline" now airs on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays) and the returning "NewsRadio" gets the 9:30 p.m. time period. On Thursday, "Friends" retains its 8 p.m. slot, followed by new sitcom "All My Life" at 8:30 p.m. and then "Frasier'' at 9 p.m. time. On Friday, new hourlong drama "Trinity" gets the 8 p.m. time slot and on Saturdays new hourlong drama "Wind on the Water" joins the schedule, also at 8 p.m.
