FRED POPPE DEAD AT 72

[new york] Fred C. Poppe, chairman emeritus of Poppe Tyson, died June 7 in Stuart, Fla., following a respiratory illness. He was 72.

Mr. Poppe began his ad career in New York at Fuller & Smith & Ross. He co-founded Poppe Tyson in 1974, retiring in 1986 as chairman-CEO.

Mr. Poppe was a past president of the Business/Professional Advertising Association, a recipient of the G.D. Crain Award and a member of the Advertising Hall of Fame.
