Fisher & Levy Catering sent this mailing to 20,000 office managers between January and March. "We know who our target is-they're overworked, underpaid people with large discretionary dollars," said Chip Fisher, president of the Manhattan company. The "free lunch" offer generated a 3.5% response rate; 1% became customers, double projections. The mailing was designed by free-lancer Ken Kneitel, with marketing consultant Ed Levine.
